Military Novels Telling the Stories of Those Who Fought the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars.
Craig is a retired Army Colonel, with multiple deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, the Balkans, and Africa. He writes professionally on national security and legal issues, as well as authoring novels about the the Post-9/11 era intended to enlighten on the many different costs of war. (Author to left of flag, Basra, Iraq, 2003)
Craig's military novels examine the costs and consequences of warfare on the soldiers who serve, their families, and the civilians caught in the cross-fire. This is military literature that captures what happens in the grey zone of a combat environment to both soldiers and noncombatants. "Craig is the literary voice for those who served our nation in the War on Terrorism." - Bernie Edelman, author of "Dear America: Letters Home from Vietnam."

Craig's writing has been recognized with Gold Medals from the Military Writer's Society of America for two of his novels, One Weekend A Month and An Absence of Faith. He received the first place in fiction "Golden Nib" award from the Chesapeake Bay Writers, and a statewide award in fiction by the Virginia Writers Club in 2023. His books reflect the frustrating ground truth confronted by our soldiers in twenty years of ill- advised efforts to democratize the Middle East through military intervention. In his Army career he is a two time recipient of the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal for Valor, awarded during operations in Iraq in 2003.
